On X, THIS second-gen male idol went viral after dropping his unconventional comeback teasers ahead of its release.
On June 26, SHINee Key is set to make his return to the music scene with its Japanese single, Tongue Tied"!
Earlier on June 13, SM Entertainment released its schedule poster, where it was stated that the sound source would be unveiled on that day, followed by the music video on July 3. The album will be then physically released on August 7.
Ahead of Key's much-anticipated comeback, he started teasing fans with the song's possible concept with its teaser sets dropped from June 17 to June 20.
Each day, the male icon has been revealing high-quality photos where he was seen wearing fancy and cool outfits. In online communities, he has been trending among netters for his unrivaled wittiness when it comes to thinking of unique concepts, fans are regretting that he won't mainly promote in South Korea but in Japan.
On June 20 then, he raised more K-pop stans' anticipation for his comeback single after he became the center of the crowd with his Image Teasing #4.
In the first set, colored infomercials usually seen in newspapers and on the internet were seen, with various keywords that are said to be connected to his upcoming single album. This drew the attention of web users, now having about half a million views.

However, when SM posted the second set of his image teasing #4, it immediately made the people do a double take if it was really posted by the official account.
In the photo, Key was seen standing with two hands together with the words, "Inside my mind" and "In my head." He also used the odd combination of green background and pink text, wondering if Key was trolling them after the consecutive high-quality teasers in the last three days.
He didn't stop there as he also involved his popular dogs, Comme des and Garcons in the teaser, posting a gif collage featuring them in a pink background filled with roses along with the moving text:
"Make my day, just like my favorite song."
As of the writing, it has about 1 million views and over 85k likes.
The reason this went viral among fans was due to the nostalgia that it brought especially to older fans and internet users who used to edit idols the same way as Key.
But even younger fans who weren't able to experience shared their anecdotes from their mothers and grandmas, who often post a similar-looking gif.
