A fourth generation did a dance challenge with a Japanese AV (adult video) actress to promote her comeback. Soon, Korean netizens rallied against the idol's agency.
On June 20, 2024, cignature member Jeewon performed the dance challenge for their latest single, "I like I like," with Japanese AV actress Ogura Yuna. The video was shared across cignature's official social media platforms. In the video, both women are seen smiling brightly as they perform.
However, Korean netizens were not impressed, with many slamming C9 Entertainment for making their idol perform with an AV actress.
On June 19, 2024, a post titled "The company who made their idol shoot a challenge with an AV actress" was uploaded to TheQoo, one of South Korea's most popular online community forums.
In the comments of the post, many slammed C9 Entertainment for their decision, stating it was obvious that their target audience had switched to a certain demographic of men. They claimed the company was crazy for making this decision and wondered about the thought process behind the decision.
It was noted that even Japanese netizens were shocked by C9 Entertainment's decision.

This is not the only interaction between Jeewon and Ogura Yuna that amassed backlash. On June 20, both appeared on the YouTube show "No Bbaku Tak Jae Hoon." During the show, Ogura Yuna asked Jeewon to debut as an AV (porn) actress, noting that she has a nice body and that she would likely be a top AV actress.
Jeewon and the hosts attempted to deflect Ogura Yuna's statements, commenting on the cultural difference between Japan and Korea. Jeewon replied with grace, stating she had debuted as a K-drama actor in her home country.
With C9 Entertainment dressing Jeewon in tight clothes that hug her figure and reveal her cleavage, as long as the over-sexualization of the female idol on media, many are slamming the company for trying to exploit the cignature member. However, C9 Entertainment has not responded to the backlash.
