On June 25, a community post, titled, "Looks Like Ex-DAY6 Member Jae Is Still In Touch With Them", caught the attention of netizens and My Days. According to the post, the author uploaded a clip of Indonesian outlet IDN Times' interview with Jae.
The interviewer recalled Jae's surprising tweet reply voicing support for his former DAY6 bandmates in December 2022. During that time, Jae stated:
"DAY6 will be on top of the world someday, I firmly believe this. Though we are apart, please support them and don't regret it later!"
Following this, the interviewer mentioned that fans were curious regarding the tweet, and asked Jae if he was still in touch with the members. Jae replied that they would text each other back "once in a blue moon." The soloist then followed with words of support for the band.
Interviewer:"Fans are very curious about it because back in 2022, there was a tweet from you giving your former bandmates support. So, are you still in contact with the members?"
Jae:"Once in a blue moon, yeah, we'll send a text back, and I'll get a text and I'll send them back, but honestly, I wish the best of them, and I just hope them well."

K-netz were relieved by Jae's update members and stated how delightful it was seeing him still acquainted despite his departure from the band.
"That's right, they didn't part ways because they fought, so of course, they'd still be in contact."

While some were happy with the news, others rolled their eyes over the interview, and considered the question as disrespectful and inappropriate. The clip also reached social media platform X (Twitter), where fans expressed outrage.
"I'm just dumbfounded at this, I don't have any lingering feelings towards that member, but at that time, he was so stressed, so what's up with the comments asking whether he'll come back?"
