Seeing this, Joy openly expressed her dissatisfaction. On the fan communication platform Bubble, Joy responded to a fan's question regarding the music video's release. Joy said, "Well, they just told us to wait without listening to our opinions at all, and then showed us a music video that hasn't been edited at all," expressing her discomfort.
Even before the album's release, Joy had hinted that her relationship with her company was rocky. She publicly expressed her feelings towards SM Entertainment for not promoting Red Velvet's new album.
As SM Entertainment was setting up and preparing to proceed with the promotion plan for Red Velvet's comeback, Joy said, "I wonder how long it will remain a secret. I wonder if they forgot to announce it, or whether they plan to announce it next week," showcasing her frustration.
Joy's expression of dissatisfaction has led fans to worry that the relationship between SM Entertainment and Joy might be deteriorating. For Red Velvet fans, the members' contract situations are sensitive and important issues. SM Entertainment announced that two members of Red Velvet had renewed their contract with the agency, with Seulgi doing so in August 2023 and Irene this February.
