What is the SPECIAL REQUEST that 2NE1 asked from YG Entertainment? In an official statement, the label confirmed THIS rumor!
Following 2NE1's 15th debut anniversary in May, it seems like the quartet is cooking something for BLACKJACKs (fandom) following YG's official statement!
Earlier on June 25, the K-media initially reported that the four members would be reuniting with YG's executive producer Yang Hyun Suk after 8 years in an official meeting.
At the time, the label stated that it was hard to confirm it but on June 28, YG announced that a meeting at YG's new building in Mapo-gu, Seoul truly took place on the 27th!
In May, it was reported that CL also met with Yang in time for their 15th debut anniversary, but this is truly a significant move since all four members were present this time, not to mention that it is not just a casual meeting.
In its official position, YG stated:
"CEO Yang warmly welcomed each of the four members of 2NE1 one by one. We had very meaningful and deep conversations during the meeting that lasted about two hours."

YG then confirmed that 2NE1 is preparing for a new project in partnership with the label, but it is still not yet established if it's going to be a comeback with an album release, a world tour, etc.
"Considering that the members visited Producer Yang in person to celebrate their 15th debut anniversary, it is very likely that 2NE1 will proceed with a new project.
Since Producer Yang and 2NE1 members met for the first time in 8 years and had their first conversation, no specific plans have been made yet.
However, Producer Yang, who has a special affection for 2NE1, listened to the members' requests and sympathized, so we hope to deliver good news to fans soon."
In the meantime, attention is focused on whether 2NE1 made a resolution with YG and if the new project will be released under the label.
On the other hand, 2NE1 is the first K-pop girl group launched by YG Entertainment in 2009. Immediately after their debut, the team's fame soared thanks to their numerous megahits including, "Fire," "I Don't Care," and "I AM THE BEST."
They established themselves as "Queens of K-pop" from the second-gen era which has consistently shown splendid performances and outstanding live skills.
Unfortunately, after Minzy first left the group, the team eventually disbanded in 2016 with "Goodbye" until they also one by one left YG Entertainment.
They haven't had any release since then, but after about 7 years, they were able to perform as a whole group in April 2022 when they made a surprise stage at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival held in the U.S.
