Fans are excited to see Taemin's presence at the upcoming show.

On July 3, Korean news outlet News1 reported that SHINee's youngest member and second-gen icon Taemin has been confirmed as the MC for the upcoming "Road To Kingdom" Season 2. The show will be launched in the second half of 2024.

Taemin is one of K-pop's most talented aces, as he debuted with SHINee in 2008. Ever since his introduction to the K-pop scene, Taemin has amazed fans all over the world with his captivating dance skills, vocals, and stage presence.

Apart from being a pivotal member of SHINee, Taemin has established himself as a well-known soloist in the K-pop industry. Due to his overwhelming talent, many aspiring trainees and young idols have considered him a role model and inspiration.

Sources also state that it is expected for Taemin to mentor the contestants, given his longtime experience in the industry and knowledge performance-wise.

In the initial reports from Korean media, Taemin was nominated to be the MC of the boy group survival show. This caught the attention of Mnet, which responded, "We are currently discussing Taemin's appearance as MC for the new season of 'Road To Kingdom."

The news eventually started a community forum online, where Shawols and Korean netizens expressed their enthusiasm for Taemin's inclusion. Many were hyped to see what the "GUILTY" singer has to offer in the much-awaited survival show.

In other news, Taemin revealed his true feelings regarding his departure from agency SM Entertainment. This revelation came after Taemin and his fellow bandmate Onew left the company, which wrapped up their 16-year journey with the label.

On March 6, Taemin approached Shawols on the fan platform Bubble, where he addressed the sudden news about the departure. Taemin first showed concern for the fans' feelings and conveyed how surprised they must've been with the update.

The icon also shared that he had been contemplating the decision since 2023, and after discussing it with the other SHINee members, he finalized the choice to leave SM. Taemin also took this chance to express his gratitude to his fans.

"We have been together for a long time now," Taemin stated. "I believe there will be better things and I will make sure of it."

He added, "As a SHINee member, and as Taemin, I ask for your continued support."
