BABYMONSTER Ahyeon's Gestures Guided By Yang Hyun Suk in 'FOREVER' Performance Video: 'Do It Calmly'

Ahyeon has been criticized by netizens for "overperforming" during BABYMONSTER's stages, which led to numerous debates. In a new development, a behind-the-scenes video caught the attention of internet users and fans due to Yang Hyun Suk's advice to Ahyeon regarding her gestures.

Earlier on July 17, BABYMONSTER released the being-the-scenes video of the dance performance for "FOREVER." The video showed the girls slaying the performance with their impressive dance skills and charisma.

While many were quick to appreciate the members for their talent and irresistible charms, one specific moment in the video drew the most attention online. On July 18, TikTok user @we.are.monster uploaded a clip from the video's 1:12 mark.

According to the clip, Yang Hyun Suk was seen monitoring the girls in their performance, and even giving them advice on their dancing. Yang Hyun Suk started with Ahyeon's gestures, as the YG founder imparted that "It's better to do it calmly."

In the comments, netizens reacted to Yang Hyun Suk's constructive comment on Ahyeon's performance and compared it to the forced hate she was receiving. Meanwhile, others lambasted netizens who called out Ahyeon's critics.

  • "See? Even YG was already pointing it out. She's doing too much and Ahyeon fans don't believe it."
  • "Haters: She's doing too much, over dancing, screaming, and tryinghard to outshine members. YG: It is better to do it calmly. Spot the difference? That's constructive criticism."
  • "I'm not a hater of Ahyeon. I like all of the members but yeah that's what we've pointed out but they say we are haters."
  • "There's a difference between being energetic and overdoing it. Ahyeon is energetic but at the same time unnecessarily overexerting. So she should always mind YG's advice of calming down."
  • "The way her boss even said the same thing and her fans have been crying this whole time."
  • "This! Haters say she's exaggerating. Concerned people want her to calm down a little bit for her to fit more into their dance. Director even knows it. She's a professional and I love that she listens."
  • "That's the point. Their concept this time is more on being elegant and stuff, so she has to look elegant and tone down her movements, not to look strong."

In other news, BABYMONSTER appeared on MBC Radio to perform "FOREVER." Various clips were shared and fans raved about the girl group's live. However, many seemed to notice that Ahyeon seemingly appeared "less enthusiastic" during the session.

Netizens speculated that this was due to the hate and criticism she has been receiving due to her performances, which many claim as "over-exaggerated." On the other hand, fans defended the idol from the unnecessary drama.
