Trainees 'Kicked Out' from NewJeans Draw Attention: 'Everyone Made Fun of Her When'

After the revelation that NewJeans was supposed to debut with seven members, K-pop fans discussed the status of trainees who were sadly removed due to Min Hee Jin and her shaman.

On July 23, Dispatch initially reported on the claim that ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin stole the current members of NewJeans from its sister label under HYBE, Source Music.

The media outlet even leaked a practice video where the five members and two faceless trainees were seen, proving that they have been training to debut as HYBE's "first girl group."

Unfortunately, their supposed debut was continuously postponed, and later, LE SSERAFIM was launched by SouMu instead, whereas NewJeans was managed by ADOR.

Following this news, a lot of K-pop stans especially showed interest in the other trainees who were removed from NewJeans' original debut lineup.

This is especially after the revelation that they were kicked out after Min Hee Jin consulted with a shaman. The CEO showed their photos, and after the shaman criticized their visuals and even claimed that they were likely "possessed by ghosts," Min stated her decision to eliminate them.

One of the supposed trainees who almost debuted with NewJeans is Sakurai Miu, a former "Girls Planet 999" & "Nizi Project" contestant.

While participating in "Produce 101" Japan, Miu confessed that she was originally a NewJeans pre-debut member. At the time, a lot made fun of her and criticized her for using the group for "clout," but it turned out that she was telling the truth.

Currently, she is actively promoting as a member of the popular J-pop girl group ME:I after securing the 4th spot in the show. The group will also come back on August 28 with its second single, "Hi-Five."

Another trainee who could have made it to NewJeans was Youngseo, who also competed in "R U Next?," a HYBE x JTBC survival show that created ILLIT. Many were claiming that she was the trainee who was kicked out from NewJeans for having "soulless eyes."

She was originally a part of ILLIT's debut lineup as well, but she left ahead of their official launch. Until now, no one knows what happened exactly, but there are speculations that she was also removed for not matching the members' concepts and images.

Lastly, Yubin is also being mentioned as the possible trainee who was kicked out as well from NewJeans. She confessed that she used to train with them under Source Music, but her fate also ended up being removed from the lineup.

Now, she's been establishing her name as a member of tripleS.
