THESE Idols Purposely Unfollowed Each Other to Create 'Drama' — But the Result Was Hilarious

On a live stream, THESE K-pop idols recalled one time they unfollowed each other on Instagram, but the fans' reaction to their "falling apart" wasn't what they expected.

In a recent broadcast with fans, NCT Dream Mark and Chenle shared an anecdote about when they tried to stir a "drama" among fandom by unfollowing each other on Instagram.

The story happened years ago when Chenle hit basketball player Stephen Curry a direct message. As a long-time fan, he was nervous if he would be able to receive a reply since the athlete was not following him back.

To verify if they could still see the message even if they weren't following each other on SNS, Chenle asked his co-member to unfollow him. He even asked Mark to delete their entire conversation, but feeling sentimental about it, Mark refused.

Upon unfollowing each other, the member of the "maknae line" revealed his another motive for doing it, and that was to create a "drama" among their fandom, NCTzens!

Before following back each other, they waited some time to receive fans' response; however, the result was not what they expected.

Originally, Chenle wanted to see comments like, "Did their relationship fall apart?" and Mark agreed by adding, "What's happening to them?"

The two were excited and expecting to stir a drama, but this left them underwhelmed due to the lack of fans' response — rather, they didn't really even notice it!

After fans belatedly learned about this story, the idols drew laughter and were teased by NCTzens for indirectly wanting to become headlines for media outlets.

Fans also defended themselves as to why they didn't notice it, explaining that they didn't have any reason to check if they were still following each other at the time since the fandom didn't sense any animosity between them.

Meanwhile, Mark and Chenle are both part of NCT's sub-unit NCT DREAM. On August 23, the group will release their full English single, "Rains in Heaven," on various music platforms.

The track is a "1980s-style pop song with a harmonious blend of rhythmic drums and bass and emotional synths."

The song also contains the warm and comforting message of sympathizing with the pain of listeners who are tired and struggling in life. With this, the seven members deliver their hope to become a source of strength for them.

Following this, NCT Dream will continue its American leg of their world tour "THE DREAM SHOW 3: DREAM( )SCAPE" in Bogota, Colombia on Aug. 31st, wherein they will reveal the stage for their new song, "Rains in Heaven," for the first time.
