SM Entertainment uploaded a teaser of virtual artist naevis, which has been long anticipated by fans regarding its solo debut.

On August 21, Korean news outlet E-Daily reported that SM Entertainment had uploaded a video teaser of naevis, a virtual character from aespa's universe.

The character played a major role in helping aespa members open a P.O.S. (Port of Soul), which connects the real world to the virtual realm of Kwangya. It also reported that naevis plans to launch a variety of activities in September as an artist.

The outlet also shared that naevis will utilize advanced technology as a flexible character that adapts to suit various platforms, content, and media. The virtual artist would also be featured with an AI-generated voice and intelligence.

To expand her reach, naevis also aims to extend her IP universe through content such as music, games, webtoons, brand collaborations, and merchandise.

Earlier on March 25, SM Entertainment's current CEO Lee Sung Soo revealed that the agency was developing naevis to become a virtual idol.

"We are planning to introduce naevis, who has only appeared in computer graphics (CG) in aespa's music videos," the CEO shared. "She will be an artist that uses technologies to contain natural movements, voices, and real-time communication."

The CEO also added, "For the audience to accept virtual human beings as real people, storytelling and music must be supported."
