fromis_9's Win in 'Music Core' Turns 'Awkward'  After ZB1 Gyuvin Made THIS Mistake 

fromis_9 won the first place in "Music Core" for "Supersonic," FLOVERs and ZEROSEs had a heated encounter after ZB1 Gyuvin did THIS.

On August 24, the new episode of MBC's "Show! Music Core" featured a star-studded artist lineup: SHINee Taemin, SISTAR Hyolyn, and MAMAMOO Moon Byul.

K-pop groups SF9, fromis_9, DRIPPIN, NMIXX, YOUNG POSSE, LIGHTSUM, LUN8, UNIS, and more also appeared, flaunting each of their incredible comeback stages.

On this day, (G)I-DLE, KISS OF LIFE, and fromis_9 battled for the first spot, but only one team prevailed, which was none other than fromis_9 with their new track, "Supersonic".

Upon the result, MCs NMIXX Sullyoon, SF9 Chani, and ZEROBASEONE (ZB1) Gyuvin congratulated the girl group and asked them to give their acceptance speech.

The members could only say, "Wow!" when Gyuvin suddenly cut the speech off and continued to read his lines from the script.

fromis_9 were the left in confusion, but Sullyoon who noticed this helped Gyuvin to check on his script, while Chani proceeded with his lines of wrapping up the segment.

Enveloped in an awkward atmosphere, the MCs apparently received new direction from the show's PD and asked the girl group to say something about them winning.

Despite what they experienced, fromis_9 remained professional and said:

"Hello, this is fromis_9! Flover (fromis_9's fandom name). We won first place. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful award. Thank you to the Pledis Entertainment staff who always support us. Thank you to our hairstylist and makeup artist as well. We love you so much."

Fortunately, the show ended without additional conflict, but the aftermath of what Gyuvin did continued when the clip of what happened was shared in various online communities.

On Instiz, FLOVERs and netizens shook their heads in disbelief that Gyuvin kept messing up his lines and making mistakes as an MC. They even doubted his skills, weighing whether he should do hosting roles again.

On the flip side, ZEROSEs defended the male idol, explaining that the 19-year-old star has potential and there's still room for improvement, so K-pop fans should give him another chance.

However, some refused to accept such reasoning, since being a music show MC is a much-coveted role among rookies, thus, internet users are insisting it should be given to someone who has the skills to do it.

Here are some of the comments:

• "If the winner wasn't fromis_9 but a (popular) 4th generation girl group, it would've been talked about all day, but the MC fans (ZB1 Gyuvin fans) are really working hard to defend him."
• "Everyone makes mistakes. Even MCs with a lot of experience make mistakes. But how long are you going to keep making mistakes like that?"
• "Let's practice harder."
• "Oh my gosh, LOL. Is this your first time as MC? You must have been really nervous."
• "I don't want to say anything by mistake, but since there aren't many fans of fromis_9, it might be unpleasant for them, but it's really ridiculous that ZEROSEs came running and shielded Gyuvin first. Even if it was a mistake, a mistake is a mistake and we can talk about it."
