Suga uploaded a second apology on Weverse, which addressed the ongoing issue regarding his DUI incident.
The idol trended across the media and K-pop community for driving an electric scooter while intoxicated, and ultimately falling near his apartment, causing the idol to be booked by police authorities.
Earlier on August 23, Suga appeared at the Yongsan Police Station in Seoul. The rapper also let out a brief statement, apologizing for the issue and promising to cooperate in the investigation diligently.
On August 25, Suga uploaded a handwritten letter on the fan platform. According to the letter, the idol expressed his apologies and regret about the incident. Read his full letter below:
"Hello, This is Suga.
I would like to apologize again to you with shame.
I deeply apologize to my fans and everyone who loves me for the disappointment and hurt caused by my misbehavior. I've made a big mistake. I've forgotten the responsibility to repay you with actions worthy of the love I've received.
On the night of August 6th, I made the mistake of driving an electric scooter after drinking. Also, I apologize for the confusion caused by the first apology I hastily posted on the 7th.
I should have thought more deeply and been careful, but I couldn't. It's all my fault. My carelessness is giving everyone who cares about me a hard time. I will try not to do anything wrong again and live with repentance.
Due to this incident, I have greatly damaged the precious memories I made with the members and fans, as well as put a lot of pressure on the name of BTS. I feel so apologetic and regretful that it's hard to express since it's causing damage to the members and the group.
I'm sorry that the members who always trusted me are having a hard time because of me. I am aware of the disappointment fans who have supported me must have felt.
I just feel sorry for the fans who have always given me too much love. I know that it's difficult to heal the wounds and disappointments that my fans have received with any words, so I regret it deeply and reflect on it with a heavy heart every day.
Once again, I sincerely apologize to the fans who were hurt by me. We will receive criticism and reprimand as well as future dispositions. Finally, once again, I sincerely apologize for causing a social stir and disappointing many people."
In other news, both BIGHIT MUSIC and Suga shared their respective statements about the controversy. The agency addressed the incident, stating that Suga's license was revoked and that there were no injuries or property damages caused by the incident.
Suga also wrote a letter, apologizing for his actions. "No one was harmed, but I bow my head and apologize to everyone because it's my responsibility, and there are no excuses."
