Former DAY6 Jae opened up about his true feelings after leaving the group, confessing his heartbreak when he was "erased" from the band despite his contributions.
On Sept. 12, idol singer Jae appeared on the popular American radio show, "Zach Sang Show" as a guest.
Here, he updated on his recent status and reminisced about his background as the original member of JYP Entertainment's K-pop rock band, DAY6.
Among the questions thrown to him, what captured the attention of viewers the most was when he was asked if what he felt when his previous team dropped the EP "Fourever" in March.
This was the first album released by the group in about 3 years after completing their military enlistment, celebrating their reunion as a four-member band.
As the fifth member, Jae revealed his heartbreak and said:
"Can I just be really honest? It kind of hurt. I understand that it's like they had this whole analysis and the story behind it, but in my head, it's hard for me to watch any DAY6 stuff just because it reminds me of a lot of stuff.
For a long time, it was hard for me to even go back to Korea because every time I landed, there was this feeling of anxiety and just unsettlement and I don't know what it was."

Although Jae clarified that he understood the reasoning of the members, his initial reaction was being frustrated and narrated:
"It felt like someone was trying to erase me out of the history of (DAY6) and it hurts because I literally gave up my career in Korea for that team."
He further explained:
"Now that I'm gone, they're trying to erase all that. But I understand. I feel like there was never any closure for them on that side and that's not to the members, that's more to the label, and if that's the closure that they need then I guess, so be it. But it's still going to hurt a little bit."
