Cube Entertainment has responded to the latest reports of Soyeon's contract status.
On October 25, Xports News released an exclusive report disclosing Soyeon's decision not to renew her exclusive contract, which is set to expire this November.
However, Cube noticed the information at hand, leading it to reveal that the agency is currently in talks with the (G)I-DLE leader about a renewal.
"We are discussing a contract renewal with Jeon Soyeon," Cube shared. "We will continue to carry out her scheduled activities as planned."
In August, Soyeon made headlines for her performance at (G)I-DLE's "iDOL" concert in Seoul, where she performed a song mentioning her contract status in its rap verses. The idol went on saying, "My contract ends in November / No one can stop me / Who dares say anything."

The performance immediately led Cube to confirm her contract's conclusion in November and that renewals were being discussed with the idol. It also added that the company was already aware of Soyeon's lyrics ahead of time.
Following this, Soyeon uploaded a statement on her Instagram Stories. The "Super Lady" singer clarified that the sole purpose of her performance was for fans to enjoy.
Soyeon added that she does not harbor any hard feelings against Cube Entertainment.
