EXO, the so-called "Mariah Carey" of Korea, is back! As Koreans commemorate the start of the winter season, the boy band's winter song "First Snow" has risen up anew on the major Korean music charts.
On November 27, South Korea finally experienced its first snow, marking the official start of a white Christmas!
On the same day, the "Representative K-pop carol songs" were played to celebrate the special day, including EXO's "First Snow," released in 2013.
"First Snow" is a track from EXO's second EP and special Christmas album, "Miracles in December," which often go viral as South Korea awaits the Yuletide season. In 2023, the song became a trending dance challenge among K-pop idols and TikTokers while admiring the first pour of snow.
As more people welcome the season, the song jumped to the top spot as the most searched on MelOn real-time search. From being outside the major Korean music charts' top 50 and 100, "First Snow" rapidly climbed up spots on Flo, Genie, and Bugs.
As of the latest rankings (8 a.m. KST), the song sat at No. 12 on Bugs, 16th place on Genie, and 36th place on Flo.

On MelOn, it particularly ranked the highest, re-entering the top 10 of the Top 100 chart. It has now become the fastest carol to re-enter the Korean music charts, even faster than Mariah Carey's "All I Want for Christmas Is You."
What made this feat more precious is that the first snow happened on the birthday of one of the beloved EXO members, Chanyeol!
