CL dropped the biggest clue on 2NE1's possible comeback next year.
Since the kick-off of their 2024 "WELCOME BACK" world tour in October, the quartet has shown their strong desire to release a new song together since they officially disbanded in 2017 with "Goodbye."
In particular, during the Asian leg of their tour, CL addressed BLACKJACK's request for a new album and replied that it is "definitely in consideration."
Main vocalist Bom also shared the same hope with their fandom and said that she wants to have a comeback by next year.
On December 3, their leader teased fellow members and fans' aspirations after she posted a photo alluding to the group's future.
In the photo, a person in a black hoodie is seen working at a studio, and to make sure the audience knows she's working on music, the photo is captioned, "Cooking."
What stood out was the 2NE1 logo visible at the back of the jacket, hinting that the star's team is "cooking" a new project for the quartet, and not just solo music.

If a 2NE1 comeback in 2025 really happens, they will re-debut and have a new release after about eight years since they parted ways and left YG Entertainment.
In the meantime, while waiting for that day to come, 2NE1 is continuing with their group schedules. On the 3rd, Dazed Korea revealed that the four-member team will be featured in its December 2024 issue.
On the 8th, Dara, CL, Bom, and Minzy will proceed with their world tour in Hong Kong, followed by a three-day concert in Japan from Dec. 13th to 15th. They will end their 2024 world tour with concerts in Singapore on the 21st and 22nd.
2NE1 will carry on with their 2025 tour starting with their performance in Thailand on Jan. 25th and additional dates in February in Kuala Lumpur, Taipei, Ho Chi Minh City, and Macau.
