According to a Star News report, Song failed to report to work on December 18 at the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility located in Seoul.
The facility confirmed that Song Min Ho had taken sick leave for personal reasons on December 18. The idol had been classified as a Grade 4 supplementary service worker following a conscription physical examination.
The facility reported that the designation has allowed him to serve alternative military duty instead of active duty and that the idol has been receiving treatment for panic and bipolar disorders.
"Since the person in charge is currently under investigation due to the controversy surrounding Song Min Ho's poor service performance, there is nothing we can say at this time," said a representative from the Mapo Resident Convenience Facility to Star News.
YG Entertainment, Song's agency, issued an official statement, explaining that the absence was authorized.
"The reason for his sick leave is a continuation of the treatment he had been receiving prior to his service," they said.
"Additionally, all of his vacation and leave days were used in accordance with regulations."
The agency previously addressed the accusations regarding his attendance records, denying the allegations of attendance manipulation and claiming the idol had complied with proper protocol.
