BTOB's Eunkwang announced that he will be canceling his New Year's performance in the "Gwanghwamun Love Song" musical after contracting Type A Influenza.

Type A Influenza is a contagious viral infection that can cause life-threatening complications if left untreated and is known to cause flu pandemics.

The singer revealed through his agency that he'd been advised by medical professionals to rest before resuming activities.

"Hello, this is BTOB Company,

We would like to inform you regarding Seo Eunkwang's absence from the 'Gwanghwamun Love Song' musical performance scheduled for 2 PM on January 1st.

Seo Eunkwang visited the hospital due to a high fever and poor condition and was diagnosed with Type A Influenza. As a result, he will not be able to participate in the January 1st performance of 'Gwanghwamun Love Song'.

This decision was made based on the doctor's recommendation for adequate rest and prioritizing the artist's health. We kindly ask for your understanding.

We sincerely apologize for causing concern to the fans. Please be assured that we will do our best to ensure Seo Eunkwang's speedy recovery. Thank you."

The musical "Gwanghwamun Love Song," directed by Lee Gi Na and written by Ko Sun Woong, tells the love story of Myungwoo, a middle-aged man, who remained in a coma before death, and his first love Soo Ah.

The musical, a modern revival of its 2011 edition, features a new cast, including actors Yoon Do-hyun and Um Ki-jun.
