The SBS Entertainment Awards have been postponed to January next year amid scheduling adjustments.
The network announced active considerations to push back the SBS Entertainment Awards to January 2025, as reported by Star News on December 31.
Originally, the 2024 SBS Entertainment Awards were slated to occur at 8:40 PM on December 31 at the SBS Prism Tower in Seoul.
Following the tragic Jeju Air crash at Muan Airport that sent the nation into a period of mourning, SBS decided to postpone the event to honor the tragedy and lives of the crash's 179 victims.
While most year-end award shows are pre-recorded privately and later aired, network SBS announced on December 30 that they would not proceed with recordings of the awards show.
The broadcaster further stated that decisions regarding the announcement of award results and their format remain undecided and will be unveiled at the show to come.
SBS is currently working on rescheduling the event for January 2025 and will adjust the schedules of participating celebrities accordingly.
