BLACKPINK member Jisoo has announced through her individual agency the postponement of birthday-related content in observance of the nation's mourning period, following the Jeju Air plane crash tragedy.

Jisoo's agency, BLISSOO, announced the idol's participation in an Instagram story.

"We extend our deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathy to all the victims and their families affected by the tragic passenger plane crash over the weekend," they said.

"We pray for the repose of the deceased, mourning the victims of the Jeju Air tragedy.

"In solidarity with the national mourning period, the release of birthday content and scheduled social media uploads planned for this week have been postponed."

Following the Jeju Air passenger plane crash on December 29, which took the lives of 179 passengers, South Korea declared a week-long national mourning period, which will last until midnight on January 4.

Jisoo, whose birthday falls on January 3, had originally planned a rollout of birthday posts and content in gratitude to fans.

The singer, who has expanded her repertoire with acting, will have roles in the Coupang Play series Newtopia, set to premiere on February 7, 2025.

Jisoo will also make an appearance in the film Omniscient Reader's Viewpoint and the drama Monthly Boyfriend.
