Thirty-nine-year-old Rapper San E (real name Jung San) has been booked without detention following a months-long assault investigation.

The Seoul Mapo Police Station ordered San E to prosecution in October on charges of assault, according to Korean outlet TenAsia.

His father, Mr. A, who was with him at the scene of the crime and charged with similar assault allegations, allegedly settled with the victim, leading to the conclusion of the investigation against the duo.

Following the settlement, the investigation was closed in accordance with Korea's anti-will penalty law, which requires a demonstrable lack of consent for an action to be considered criminal.

San E was initially booked in August for assault after he reportedly assaulted a passerby on August 28 at around 8:30 PM at an underpass in Mapo-gu with a cellphone after warning him to "handle his bicycle properly."

San E allegedly beat the victim up, inflicting injuries, including cuts near the eyes and damage to his teeth.

Following the incident, San E issued an apology through his legal representative: "I sincerely apologize to the victim for the recent assault incident," he said.

"I have to apologize in a statement first, but I want to see the victim in person and ask for forgiveness. I'm also sorry to many of you who would have been disappointed by me. Please scold me for my crimes."

San E debuted in 2008 after gaining visibility as a producer on Mnet's audition show Show Me the Money, and is known for hit songs like "Story of Someone I Know" and "A Midsummer Night's Sweetness."
