BamBam, a member of the K-pop group GOT7, has ended his exclusive contract with management agency Abyss Company.

In a notice posted on their official Twitter page, the agency announced that BamBam is parting ways with them after "long discussions and careful deliberation."

"As the exclusive contract period has expired, our company and artist BamBam have agreed to terminate the contract after a long period of careful discussion and with respect for each other's opinions," the notice read, as translated via Google Translate. "We would like to express our sincere gratitude to artist BamBam for being with us all this time, and we will support his future endeavors and new challenges."

BamBam has yet to share any details about his plans after his exclusive contract with Abyss expires. Still, some netizens speculate that he may be planning to establish his management team.

BamBam joined the talent management agency in March 2021 after leaving JYP Entertainment. During his tenure with Abyss, he released five solo albums, including his first solo mini-album, riBBon, launched a world tour, and participated in various variety programs, such as EXchange 2 and Master in the House 2.

The announcement of his departure from Abyss was met with mixed reactions online. Some fans thanked the agency's efforts in supporting BamBam's solo career. However, others said the expiration of the contract marked the idol's "freedom" from the agency, which they claimed overworked him "to the point of breakdown and injury."

The accusations may relate to BamBam's social media update in July 2024, in which he expressed that he wanted to "go to sleep and not wake up." He also posted Justin Bieber's song "Changes" on his social media.

BamBam later clarified that his hectic work schedule was causing him significant pressure and stress. He also promised to find time to recover.
