The talented artist shared the news during a broadcast with fans on Thursday. AleXa emphasized that the move is not a typical comeback but rather a re-debut, adding that she had plans in the works for months but has been unable to execute them in her current position.

"I want to say, it's not a comeback, it's a re-debut," she said in the broadcast. "I'm not at liberty to say anything else, but just look forward to April.

The announcement comes amid controversy surrounding AleXa's management company, Zanybros' ZB Label. Fans expressed frustration over a recent "comeback" promotion that turned out to be a rebranded performance video of the older, non-Korean track, "Under the Armor."

It is unclear if her announcement means she is planning to leave ZB Label, but netizens hope she will sign with another management agency where she can grow as a soloist.

AleXa, born Alexaundra Christine Schneiderman, has established herself as a prominent figure in the K-pop industry. Her journey began after she participated in the "Rising Legends" competition in 2016 and 2017, winning the grand prize in the show's second season. She later signed with ZB Label in 2018 and competed on Mnet's "Produce 48."

The singer made her debut in the K-pop industry when she released her single "Bomb" in Oct. 2019 and followed it with the album Do or Die in April 2020.

Since then, AleXa has released four EPs, with the last mini-album being Juliet in 2023. She has also released several notable singles, including "Revolution" in 2020 and "Tattoo" in 2022. In the same year as her last album, AleXa became the first solo Korean artist to perform at iHeartRadio's Jingle Ball.

Last year, AleXa focused mainly on expanding her presence in North America, releasing several singles, including "Sick," and "Joy of Missing Out."
