Donovan McNabb To Retire As An Eagle Monday [VIDEO]: Greatest Statistical QB In Philadelphia History Ends It Where It Started 14 Year Ago With Boos In NYC

Donovan McNabb to retire as an Eagle on Monday, which will officially mark his retirement and it will be with the team that could possibly put him in the hall of fame and the team that drafted him.

The former Philadelphia Eagles quarterback will retire on Monday when Donovan McNabb signs a one-day contract so he can end it where it all started in the NFL after coming out from the college ranks at Syracuse.

Donovan McNabb was taken with the number-two overall pick in the 1999 draft when fans in New York City booed the pick in a draft that had Daunte Culpepper, Champ Bailey, Tory Holt, Ricky Williams, Edgerrin James and Tim Couch in the first-round. Now fans might cheer for McNabb as he will retire in Philadelphia with a press conference.

"I tell them to take him," Reid told reporters in 2012 about the quarterback he coached during his time with the Eagles on a possible comeback for McNabb. "I still think he can play. I think the world of him, and we had some great years together here. I'm always wishing him the best and a fan of his. I got a chance to see him at Brian Dawkins' retirement (ceremony). He looks good. He looks physically good. He looks like he could go out and play tomorrow. I would highly recommend (him)."

Even though he could never win the Super Bowl, but did make one trip to the big game, he finished as the Eagles' all-time leader in every major passing category, including attempts (4,746), completions (2,801), yards (32,873) and touchdowns (216). In his 11-year stint with the Eagles, McNabb won 91 regular-season games and nine playoff games.

In 2010, McNabb was traded to the Washington Redskins, which could have been his worst statistical season in the NFL. In 2011, he ended his career with one more season with the Minnesota Vikings.

"I'm in great shape, dropped 15-20 pounds," McNabb told USA Today in 2012 in regards to a comeback."But again, it's not really about that. Because for me, people may have seen how strong I looked, and they kind of (assumed I was) maybe out of shape or whatever. But now that I'm lighter, people all of a sudden (are saying), 'Well, he's in shape.' I've been in shape."

No team would sign him and he has accepted that and now will officially retire on Monday as an Eagle.

Since retirement, McNabb has worked as an analyst with the NFL Network and also does radio.

McNabb's nephew, Darnell Nurse, was the first round, 7th overall, pick by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2013 National Hockey League entry draft.
