Homeland Season 3 Spoilers [TRAILER]: Carrie Off Her Meds, Brody Needs A Passport, And Season 2 Backlash

"Homeland" season 3 is due back September 29 on Showtime, and after the recent TCA press tour, spoilers have surfaced regarding Carrie, Brody, and the season 2 backlash.

"Certainly one of the themes of season 3 is the cost of being an intelligence officer. Saul and Carrie are prime examples of that this season," says executive producer Alex Gansa according to LA Times.

Reportedly, "Homeland" season 3 will see Saul (Mandy Patinkin) assume control of the CIA after the death of his former superior, David Estes. And Carrie, while by his side, will start to spiral by going off her bipolar meds.

"Carrie is always sitting on her own personal ticking bomb. It's always an impossible dilemma because she is not great on her meds and even worse off them, but there's a 'sweet spot' when she finds the balance between the states," says Claire Danes, who portrays Carrie on "Homeland."

In a recent teaser trailer for season 3, only faint voices can be heard, predominantly that of Brody as he attempts to escape arrest for the crime he claims he did not commit.

"I need my passport!" says Brody (played by Damian Lewis) in the teaser.

And much like what season 2 set up, "Homeland" season 3 will begin without any signs of Brody.

"Brody is on the lam, he's disappeared into a network. He's the most wanted criminal in the world, so he has to lay low. I think when you do see Brody, what state will he be in?" teases Lewis at the press tour.

"Is he swanning around a yacht on the Cote d'Azure with a bevy of Russsian beauties - which I pitched? Is he hidden away? Is he lost? When you do see him, I hope it will be interesting."

And as far as the backlash from season 2, including setting up the potential disappearance act of Brody, Gansa states, "Whether there's backlash is completely out of our control."
