Paul Wesley And Torrey DeVitto Divorce: ‘Vampire Diaries’ Stars Announce Split After Two Years Of Marriage; Will It Affect Season 5?

Paul Wesley and Torrey DeVitto announced they are getting a divorce after two years of marriage. "The Vampire Diaries" stars have decided to split, but will this affect Paul's performance in "Vampire Diaries" season 5?

According to People magazine, Paul and Torrey "have decided to amicably split. They will continue to remain good friends."

Paul Wesley plays vampire Stefan Salvatore in the CW series, and Torrey had a recurring guest spot on the show's third and fourth seasons as a doctor, Yahoo! reports.

In 2012, Wesley spoke of the benefits of working on the same set. "It's fantastic because otherwise we'd be 2000 miles away, Los Angeles and Georgia, so it's very nice to be in the same geographical location," he said at the time.

Paul, 31, and Torrey, 39, met in 2007 on the set of their film "Killer Movie." They were married in a private ceremony in New York City in April 2011. They have no children.

Paul will join fellow recent singles Ian Somerhalder, who plays his vampire brother Damon Salvatore, and Nina Dobrev, who plays Elena, on "The Vampire Diaries" cast. Perhaps he can also take a page out of their book when learning how to deal with breakups while working on set.

Ian and Nina broke up May 9 after dating for several years. A source assured Us Weekly that the split between Ian, 34, and Nina, 24, would not affect the relationship between Nina and Damon on "Vampire Diaries" season 5.

The source confirmed that Ian and Nina are "consummate professionals" and "will continue to work together and remain best friends."
