Terri Hatcher, the actress who played Susan Meyer on the long-running show, "Desperate Housewives," is saying she would absolutely read a film script of the show should one be written. 

"I love the fans of the show so much, and they don't seem to be done with those characters," Hatcher told Extra. "I think it would be great for them. If a script ever came across my lap, I would read it, hoping that it would work out, but I don't really see that happening."

"Desperate Housewives" ran from 2004 to 2012, and Hatcher has been gainfully employed since then. She's participated in some Funny Or Die sketches, has appeared on "Jane By Design" and "Jake And The Neverland Pirates," and supplied the voice of forklift operator Dottie in the new Disney animated movie "Planes."

Hatcher and Housewives co-stars Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Felicity Huffman achieved a global following during the run of the Marc Cherry-created show. There has been talk that the Emmy-winning program could switch to the big screen.

However, according to E Online, Cherry ruled out a "Desperate Housewives" movie during last year's Winter Press Tour, revealing that he even spoke to "Sex and the City" guru Michael Patrick King about taking TV shows to the big screen.

"Sex and the City only did like 69 episodes. The advantage for them was they hadn't really plumbed the depths of those characters," E Online quoted Cherry. "After eight years, I think we're done. I'm happy about it. It's not a bad thing. I feel very satisfied with where we are. I'm never sending these girls to Dubai. That's all I'm saying."

Unlike her "Desperate Housewives" character, who found happiness with Mike Delfino (played by James Denton) until Delfino's untimely death on the series, the 48-year-old Hatcher is looking for love. She has a 15-year-old daughter and told Extra that she's open to the idea of being in a relationship.

"What I want to do is share all this great experience," she said. "It would be really fun to share it with someone special. I have a window that's more open than it used to be, and I imagine that someone will come in it."
