B1A4's Latest Charitable Effort Helps Needy Children, Group Donates 5 Tons of School Supplies

Donations are a common sight at K-Pop concerts. Instead of accepting fan gifts, many idols encourage concert attendees to use their money for a more worthy cause - generally through donations to charitable causes or by collecting bags of rice that can go to feed those less fortunate.

B1A4 are an extra special case - as their continuing support for local charities is something to be admired and celebrated.

For their five day concert series in Seoul this past week, the B1A4 members asked their fans to donate school supplies in lieu of flowers or other gifts.

By the end of the event, the group had collected approximately five tons of necessary school items for children whose families have financial difficulties.

With the help of 3,000 fans who attended the 2013 B1A4 Limited Show - Amazing Store at the UNIQLO AX Hall from August 7-11, B1A4 was able to make a donation that will help thousands of children through the CJ Donors Camp.

This, of course, was not the first time the members of B1A4 have showed their goodwill.

In May of last year the five members visited the home of a fan whose mother was very ill. The guys prepared a meal for the family and helped clean up around the house.

Last August the group donated 140kg of rice to the Seoul SOS Youth Camp, and organization which provides under-fed children with wholesome meals.

The day after, B1A4 held a concert at the Wonju Market in an effort to raise awareness about traditional markets and to support local food sellers who are finding it difficult to compete with supermarket chains entering their neighborhoods.

Furthermore, after the group's first solo concert they donated a variety of items to different charities, such as pet food to an animal rescue center, rice and eggs to a food bank, and mango trees to a help relieve famine and desertification in southern Sudan.
