YG Entertainment Launches New Boy Group Survival Program ‘WIN’

YG Entertainment's program "WIN" will be a survival-type music program that picks a rookie boy group to debut. It will be aired on Mnet and tvN simultaneously on August 23. The "WINNER" will be YG's first boy group debut in 7 years since Big Bang.

"WIN" will feature two teams that compete against each other for the title of "WINNER." Team A will include "Superstar K4" contestant Kang Seung Yoon and "Kpop Star" contestant Lee Seung Hoon to have a total of five members with the average age of 20. Team B will have MC Mong's "Indian Boy" 12-year old child rapper B.I and "Kpop Star" contestant Koo Joon Hee and a total of six members with the average age of 17.

The team to "Win" on the show will be crowned the "WINNER" and debut right after the show ends. On August 20 a press conference for "WIN" will be held at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul, where producer Yang Hyun Suk will announce the eleven members that make up Team A and Team B. He will not only introduce the members but reveal how the program will progress throughout the season.

YG's G-Dragon and Taeyang will also appear on the show, acting as mentors that help produce songs and give advice to the young contestants.

"WIN" will be aired on August 23 on Mnet and tvN, and not only will it be sponsored by many famous companies, it will be a huge project that will also have closed captioning translations in English, Japan, and Chinese to reach fans worldwide.
