YG’s Yang Hyun Suk to Attend ‘WIN’ Press Conference… But Why?

Yang Hyun Suk will be present at the press conference for "WIN" on August 20 before its first episode. This survival-style show is about YG Entertainment's venture to find a new boy group to debut.

On August 16 YG said, "The first episode of 'WIN: WHO IS NEXT' will air on August 23 on Mnet and tvN. The press conference will be held on August 20 at the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Seoul."

According to YG, Yang Hyun Suk will be present at this press conference to introduce the 11 members in team A and team B, and reveal the plans and procedures for the show.

The team to "Win" on the show will be crowned the "WINNER" and debut right after the show ends. The winning team would be the first male group to debut following Big Bang's debut a whopping 7 years ago, so it's drawing a lot of attention from music fans. The losing team will either be dissolved or have its debut postponed indefinitely.

Team A will include "Superstar K4" contestant Kang Seung Yoon and "Kpop Star" contestant Lee Seung Hoon to have a total of five members with the average age of 20. Team B will have MC Mong's "Indian Boy" 12-year old child rapper B.I and "Kpop Star" contestant Koo Joon Hee and a total of six members with the average age of 17.

Not only that, YG's G-Dragon and Taeyang will be training both teams in their battles against each other, and help produce and give advice to the groups. The intro to G-Dragon's new album song "Shake Up the World" will be edited to be used as the title song for "WIN."

"WIN" will be aired on August 23 on Mnet and tvN, and not only will it be sponsored by many famous companies, it will be a huge project that will also have closed captioning translations in English, Japan, and Chinese to reach fans worldwide.
