‘YHY Sketchbook’ Celebrates 200th Episode

KBS 2TV "YHY Sketchbook" is already airing its 200th episode. For over four years now, MC Yoo Hee Yeol and staff have worked hard and harmoniously for this program.

On August 21, a special press conference for "Sketchbook" was held at the KBS International Conference Room in Seoul to celebrate the 200th episode. Yoo Hee Yeol, KBS director Jang Sung Hwan, Choi Jae Hyung PD, Moon Sung Hoon PD, and writer Lee Yeon attended the press conference and revealed the future vision for the show.

"Sketchbook" aired its first episode in April of 2009, and is a show that features talented musicians, idols, underground artists, and various musicians of different genres. They perform on stage and show off their many talents and skills. This wide spectrum of performers is one of the show's main features and even its advantage.

Regarding the matter of casting and recruiting musicians for the show, Choi Jae Hyung PD said, "The key to casting is balance. We want to reflect a wide spectrum of music, and not just the mainstream artists. We try to recruit a variety of performers. If there's one condition, it's that the singers will be able to perform well live on stage." He continued, "This doesn't mean idol groups can't star in our show. But if they want to appear on our show, they have to bring something new to the table, something they've never shown on other music programs."
