FIFA 14 PS4 Release Date: Better On Next-Generation Consoles? EA Sports Has Reportedly ‘Hit The Limit’ On Current Consoles

EA Canada's Nick Channon told Official Xbox Magazine that the next-gen version of FIFA 14 will be the definitive edition with some higher-end animations apparently impossible to run on PS3 and Xbox 360, Gameranx.com reports.

"For us it's just about using the power of the machine, in terms of much more processing power and significantly more memory, and using the power of the Ignite engine to bring all these things together," Channon mentioned during the interview.

"Those shackles, if you like, are being released on the new consoles, and we're very proud of the innovations we've made on 14 and we'll continue to do that on 15, 16 and beyond. We wouldn't restrict ourselves for any reason."

EA Sports released a demo of the upcoming FIFA '14 and it has the Daily Mirror Football seal of approval with analysts saying the game's new features are significantly different from its predecessor game.

"The new features look good, most importantly the actual gameplay is significantly different in Fifa 14 that it feels like progress has been made," the Daily Mirror writes.

"The worst thing about Fifa 13 was that it did just feel like a patched version of Fifa 12, without the major physics engine bugs (though it still had some issues in this area). But changes to the through-ball function last year meant that it was no longer so easy to win by merely employing the use of a pacey winger and striker."

The FIFA '14 Demo sees eight teams available to gamers, including Manchester City and the Tottenham Hotspurs.
