As announced during Apple's September 10 media event, iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C release date in the market will be on September 20.

But a week before iPhone 5S and iPhone 5C release date arrives; ardent fans can already secure their much-awaited unit. Today, September 13, pre-orders for the upcoming iOS smartphones will open up.

As cited by International Business Times, the Cupertino-based tech firm announced during its press event that the more affordable iPhone 5C and the fingertip-scanner-equipped iPhone 5S will be available for pre-order through the official website of Apple, as well as other major carriers.

For those interested to secure a unit or so of iPhone 5S or 5C before the release date, Apple and network carriers have already announced information about the pre-orders.

According to the same report from IB Times, Apple will be taking preorders for the iPhone 5S through its website, which starts this Friday, September 13. However, the tech giant has not announced yet an exact time when it will commence getting pre-orders from interested consumers. Also, there is no option to pre-order the iPhone 5S on its site, thus, those who want to snag the next-gen Apple smartphone will have to stand in line at an Apple Store.

Moreover, Verizon, though it does not specify it will be open for both the two new iPhone modes, stated that its pre-order period will start Friday morning, 3:01 AM EST. Sprint announced that iPhone 5C pre-order will also start Friday morning, at exactly 3 AM EST.

iPhone 5S specs include 4-inch Retina display, new dual-LED flash and 3 color options like gold and space grey. Moreover, the iPhone 5s also features a new A7 processor, which is 40 times faster than the original iPhone. It is also equipped with M7 chip, which, as described by IB TIMES, "helps offload much of the motion-sensing processing from the A7, but also contains all the motion-tracking hardware Apple would need to make its highly-anticipated iWatch a reality."

Meanwhile, iPhone 5C comes with either enhanced or similar features found in its predecessor, the iPhone 5. However, unlike the aluminum unibody enclosure found on iPhone 5, the iPhone 5C makes use of "reinforced polycarbonate solution." Moreover, the cheaper iPhone will be available in five colors - blue, green, pink, white and yellow.
