The NBA annual rookie draft is a few weeks from now, and soon we'll kick off the 2013-2014 season, but before those events 2K sports will release 2K14, and this time it will feature a new cool game mode. 

If you have had past experience in using LeBron James as your 'Legend' in previous editions, this time the game will place you exactly where the 'King' is at this point in his career. 

According to Eric Freeman from Yahoo! Sports, the game mode is called "LeBron: Path to Greatness", and will be available to play for everyone who would get NBA 2K14. It will play out the NBA MVP's future in the league until he retires. As a result, players would also need to deal with future sign-offs, sign-ins and trade-ins whch James would probably encounter. 

There are basically two branches in the mode: the first is that James will stay in Miami after free agency period kicks in, while the other is to choose New York as his new home. During his entire career, LeBron may play with several other stars which would be deemed impossible in the real world. 

But just how Freeman put it, 'It's basketball science fiction'. 

In one scenario he mentions, James undergoes off-season training with a then-retired Kobe Bryant. Afterwards, he persuades the 'Black Mamba' to return and play alongside him and Chris Paul. We still don't know if such situations are possible in NBA 2K14, but if they are, each player can write LeBron's career in a unique way.
