Natalie Dormer Talks Emilia Clarke And Game Of Thrones Costumes: George R.R. Martin To Out Bad 'Breaking Bad'

As "Game of Thrones" season 4 continues filming, Natalie Dormer took the time to talk about her costumes, Emilia Clarke, and the popularity of the series.

"Who could have predicted what happened?" said the actress to EW. "We talk about it as a cast. 'Game of Thrones' is an unprecedented phenomenon. The reaction it's gotten online with its international fan base and the depth of knowledge that comes from the fans.

"And the wide reaching demographic that it seems to appeal to and the way it's built around fashion with Michele Clapton's Emmy winning costumes? You see hints of it in fashion. It's a cultural reference. [It's become] this profound zeitgeist cultural phenomenon and [I'm] just proud that [I'm] a part of that."

And talking about the cast, Natalie Dormer singles out Emilia Clarke as another actress who must go through both the wardrobe and hair transformation in order to inhabit the character.

"There's so much infrastructure in Margaery's costumes because my breasts don't naturally sit in that position. They're incredibly made," continued Natalie Dormer on her "Game of Thrones" costumes.

"Emilia Clarke has beautiful brunette hair. You should see the lengths they go to put on those stunning white locks."

And as "Game of Thrones" continues filming, the author George R.R. Martin is also busy finding inspiration in order to finish the book series, the latest being "Breaking Bad."

"Amazing series. Amazing episode last night. Talk about a gut punch," said the "Game of Thrones" writer.

"Walter White is a bigger monster than anyone in Westeros. (I need to do something about that),"

George R.R. Martin even sees "Breaking Bad" and "Game of Thrones" as competition, comparing their Emmy chances.

"This is the final season of 'Breaking Bad.' I think 'Game of Thrones' may have a shot at upsetting ['Breaking Bad'] for this year's Emmy (only a shot, though, I think they are the clear favorite), which pits us against their previous season... but there's no way in hell that anyone is going to defeat 'Breaking Bad' next year, when their last season is the one in contention."
