Both Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth's representatives have confirmed to People magazine that the Hollywood couple has called off their engagement.

Insiders claim that ending the relationship was the decision of Cyrus after finding out about his alleged infidelity. Back in February, the Australian hunk was seen leaving a pre-Oscars party with 'Mad Men' star, January Jones. While such incident did not seem to affect the 'Hannah Montana' actress, Hemsworth's recent cuddling with Mexican singer and actress Eiza Gonzales in a Las Vegas nightclub pained Cyrus.

"They never left each other's sides. They were with a few people and spent a few minutes at the VIP DJ stage table. They then headed back to a more private VIP bungalow cabana near the pool," said an eyewitness who spotted Hemsworth and Gonzales at XS Nightclub last Saturday night.

Last weekend, Cyrus also unfollowed the 'Hunger Games' actor on Twitter which immediately made people speculate that the relationship was over.

The two began dating in 2009 after filming 'The Last Song'.  Last year, the ex-Disney star expressed her bliss in an interview with People: "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."

They have been last photographed on August 8 for the Los Angeles premiere of Hemsworth's latest venture, 'Paranoia'. However, he was unseen during his partner's twerk performance at the MTV Video Music Awards 2013.
