Doctor Who 50th Anniversary To Peter Davison? 'I'm Making An Appearance Somewhere': 'The Day Of The Doctor' Blu-Ray Release To Retain 3D Capability

The "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary is just a few months away, and it seems a former Doctor, Peter Davison, might be making a return in some fashion.

As confirmed by Doctor Who TV, Davison recently gave a quote that confirmed the Fifth Doctor will be seen in some way during the 50th Anniversary celebration.

"I'm making an appearance somewhere over that period of time but I can't reveal in what. I can't reveal anything specific about it. I'm not allowed to," said Davison.

"It is a big year for the show and we're all doing our bit for it. Trust me."

While this does not confirm Davison will join Matt Smith and David Tennant for the "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary Special, "The Day of the Doctor," it still gives a bit of hope for fans that a few more familiar faces will show up during the Special.

Meanwhile, the "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary Special is still slated to be released on DVD and Blu-Ray in December, following the November 23 air date.

And for the lucky few who can enjoy 3D viewing at home, it seems "The Day of the Doctor" will retain its 3D capability on Blu-Ray. The DVD version, however, will only have the basic format.

The "Doctor Who" 50th Anniversary will be release d December 2.
