‘Toy Story 4’ Rumors Persist Despite Disney Denial; ‘Toy Story of Terror’ To Premiere October 16

The "Toy Story 4" Rumor is a hoax, but "Toy Story of Terror" is real and already has a premiere date.

Continuous rumors about "Toy Story 4" abound on the internet. The latest was a thread started on Reddit based on an IMDB entry. Disney has already denied such a project, but different versions have surfaced. But fans can look forward to a  half hour short film, "Toy Story of Terror" which will premiere as a TV special on October 16.

The official Disney press release reads:

"Toy Story of Terror assembles some of the key talent behind the Toy Story Toons. Angus MacLane (Small Fry) directs the half-hour special produced by Galyn Susman (Hawaiian Vacation). Tom Hanks, Tim Allen, and Joan Cusack return to voice Woody, Buzz, and Jessie, with Carl Weathers entering the franchise to voice Combat Carl."

Disney also revealed an exciting official plot synopsis:

What starts out as a fun road trip for the Toy Story gang takes an unexpected turn for the worse when the trip detours to a roadside motel. After one of the toys goes missing, the others find themselves caught up in a mysterious sequence of events that must be solved before they all suffer the same fate in this Toy Story of Terror!

"Toy Story 3" is the franchise's most recent installment and it earned more than 1Billion dollars worldwide. Disney will find it hard to resist on a sure money maker, but faithful followers of the Toy Gang will argue that the story has reached its closure.

Pixar, the production outfit now owned by Disney, has produced three short films based on "Toy Story." These are "Small Fry" "Hawaiian Vacation" and "Partysaurus Rex."
