American Idol Auditions Moves To Detroit As Randy Jackson Voices Support For New Judges: Will Season 13 Bring The Viewers Back?

"American Idol" auditions for season 13 have officially begun, and as the new judges move to Detroit, Randy Jackson is voicing his support for Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban, and Harry Connick Jr.

"I know them all very, very well," says Randy Jackson during the Novak Djokovic Foundation Gala Dinner.

"They're all amazing people, great in their own right, very credible, really cool, funny."

Unlike his previous tenure on "American Idol," Jackson will now serve as a mentor rather than one of the judges for season 13.

"I've moved to the higher court now," says Jackson.

After some intense scrutiny and judges turnover drama, "American Idol" audition have moved to Detroit, with some hopefuls showing for season 13 despite a lackluster season 12.

"You can't even have the excuse to not go, at this point, you know?" says "American Idol" auditions hopeful Chelsea Ryan according to Latin Post.

"Plus, I'm 28 ... that's the cutoff age. So, this was my last chance to do my thing."

After a round of regional auditions in July and August, the main auditions for season 13 have begun, and it seems both the new and returning judges are off to a promising start.

"Instinctively, Harry and Jennifer are gonna look for something different anyway," says Keith Urban regarding the "American Idol" season 13 judging panel. "All three of us are gonna hear something different."
