Catherine Zeta-Jones And Michael Douglas SPLIT: ‘Red 2’ Actress Coping With Separation Through Chain-Smoking? Husband Insists That Their Marriage Is A-Okay

The 43-year-old actress is reportedly not taking her separation from husband Michael Douglas in an amicable way.  While the couple has been spotted still wearing their wedding bands, insiders claim that Catherine Zeta-Jones is greatly affected with her husband's going away. Douglas is currently touring Europe to promote his movie Liberace film, 'Behind The Candelabra'.

"Catherine's in a dark place and is struggling to cope with the separation. She's been bombarding Michael with calls while he's been promoting his latest film in Europe, begging him to return home. Her mum Pat has moved into her place in New York to help look after the children and cook for her. But despite at trying to encourage her to eat, Catherine's had little appetite," a source revealed to British magazine Closer.

Apart from not eating, the Welsh actress is reportedly chain-smoking: "She's been chain-smoking up to two packets of cigarettes daily. Everyone's really worried about her. She's suggested intense therapy sessions and has told Michael she doesn't want it to end in divorce. "

Despite the reported conflicts in their marriage, the couple allegedly does not want to settle for divorce. During the Berlin premiere of his movie, the 68-year-old actor insisted that his marriage is "fine":  "I have a crisis at home? No. We are fine. My wife and I are fine."

The Hollywood pair who married in 2000 is reportedly receiving relationship counseling in a last attempt to make things right especially for their children Dylan, 13, and Carys, 10.
