Amazon Kindle Fire 2 HD Release Date: Leaked Photos Of Upcoming Tablet Makes The Rounds, New Device Will Feat. 1280 x 800 Pixels, Custom Android 4.2.2

Amazon Kindle Fire 2 HD press renders are spreading across the internet which is a high indicator that the tech giant is likely to release the tablet much earlier than most expected. According to Gizbot, a Twitter user famous for leaking upcoming tech, @evleaks uploaded leaked images of the soon to be announce Kindle Fire 2 claiming it to be the next model coming out of the Amazon camp.

Gizbot states that this is a clear sign the next generation of the Kindle tablet is almost ready for release. The design of the leaked image greatly keeps in line with the previous non-HD Kindle tablet. There is no visible front facing camera and the specs point to a very affordable price tag.

According to speculations, the Kindle Fire HD2 will come with a 7in display. The resolution would be an impressive 1280 by 800 pixels. In addition to this, it would have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC that would run a custom version of Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. Users will be accorded the option of choosing between 16GB, 32GB and 64GB storage with no external memory capabilities.

Gizbot however remains skeptical as to whether Amazon would use a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor as this would push up the device’s price tag. The most likely processor should be a dual-core if keeping it affordable as usual is Amazon’s objective.

Gizbot goes further to report that Amazon also has plans to release an 8.9in model that will have higher performance specs. The resolution is said to be of 2,560 by 1,600 Full HD and a rear facing camera with 8MP. The release date for this bigger faster model however is yet to be known.
