Neil Patrick Harris Prepares ‘Some Funny One-Liners’ For The Emmys; Who’s Sitting Next To Who At The 2013 Awards Show This Sunday?

Neil Patrick Harris will host the Emmys this Sunday, and he's undergoing a lot of preparation for the 2013 Emmy Awards.

"There's a lot of awards, so I thankfully don't have to do a lot of work," Neil Patrick Harris teased after ceremoniously unraveling the red carpet Wednesday morning for the Emmys. "I get to come up with some funny one-liners. If someone vomits, I get to joke about it, but there's not a lot of vomit. Charlie Sheen hasn't been on 'Two and a Half Men' for years."

This will be the second year Neil Patrick Harris will host the Emmy Awards, Yahoo! News reports via AP.

Despite his jokes about not preparing too much, Neil Patrick Harris tweeted about his intense rehearsals for the Emmys: "Been dancing my face off in rehearsals for the choreographer's # in the @PrimetimeEmmys. I've such crazy respect for these dancers. Unreal."

For the sixth year, the show will be held at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles. Inside the Nokia Theatre, stagehands were hard at work on preparing the set, which includes six cubes that pivot up and down and serve as video screens.

Place cards on the chairs in front of the stage's zebrawood stairs show who's sitting next to who, and the pairing of celebrities are quite interesting.

Jane Lynch and "Modern Family" stars Ty Burrell and Sofia Vergara are front-row center, AP reports. Other nominees with front-row spots included Jim Parsons, Connie Britton, Kevin Spacey and Robin Wright.

Many of the seating arrangements in different parts of the orchestra section featured other unique pairings: Michael J. Fox aside Elton John, Matt Damon next to Amy Poehler and Dylan McDermott alongside Bob Newhart, according to AP.

"American Horror Story: Asylum" is in the running for the most awards, with 17, CBS News reports. Close behind is "Game of Thrones" with 16 nominations, while "Saturday Night Live" and the Liberace biopic "Behind the Candelabra" have 15 nominations each.
