Oprah Winfrey Almost Revoked Her Interview With Lindsay Lohan: ‘Mean Girls’ Actress Showed The Tallk Show Host Her Desire To Leave Troubled Past Behind

Highly-acclaimed talk show host Oprah Winfrey nearly cancelled an exclusive interview with Lindsay Lohan sensing that the latter might not be that serious with her path to recovery.

The 'Herbie' star had to complete a 90-day rehabilitation stint in August. Days after her release, she had the opportunity to reveal some of her ordeals with Winfrey. Lohan talked about her struggles with alcohol as well as drugs during an 'Oprah's Next Chapter' episode.

Winfrey does not want the interview to appear just for publicity. For her, she really wants to ensure that the former Disney star is determined to change her ways. The media proprietor reportedly dropped by Lohan's house: "I went to her house just to say, 'What are you doing? Let's get real here' because it's television and we stand to gain if it does well."

She similarly warned her production team about the possible cancellation of the project: "The real truth is - and anybody who knows me, certainly my producers on the way there - I said, 'If I get here and Lindsay isn't serious, I will shut this thing down today."

Prior to the interview, she has similarly talked to the 'Mean Girls' actress about the authenticity of her desire for the interview: "There was a lot of chaos going on. So I went to have a conversation, a real conversation about that, to say to her, 'Do you want to do it? Because if you don't want to do it, that's OK. We could just end it. We don't have to do it."

Something good came out of the interview because one of the show's spokeswomen announced the future release of an "eight-part documentary" series in 2014 which will follow Lohan's road to recovery.
