Emma Watson Goes For Style Over Comfort: ‘Bling Ring’ Actress Insists That Despite Her Sacrifices, She’s An Avid Supporter Of Ethical Fashion

While other celebrities make it a point to be comfortable in their garb, 23-year-old Emma Watson begs to be different. When it comes to red carpet affairs, the British actress does not mind sacrificing comfort if it will impress the crowd.

The 'Perks of Being a Wallflower' actress is deemed as a fashion icon especially now that she is the current face of designer labels Burberry and Lancôme. Despite the admiration that she gets, the actress admits that being in the middle of a star-studded event is not easy: "Getting ready for an event can feel like a lot of pressure. You have to consider, 'Will people see up my skirt? If a flash goes off, can you see through this?'"

As a resolution, 'Harry Potter's' Hermione Granger undergoes a stringent preparation: "So I'll do a test sitting, a test standing. It's nerve-wracking. People really scrutinize. On the red carpet, I'm usually in so much discomfort - my shoes are uncomfortable, I can't breathe in the dress. I don't compromise like that in my everyday style."

Even if she has a penchant for glamour, the 'Bling Ring' lead actress is currently up for the Green Carpet Challenge spearheaded by Livia Firth. The challenge aspires to urge celebrities to promote sustainable fashion during glitzy events.

"I've always had this huge problem. I would love to wear garments that are ethically sourced, but there aren't enough options for me to be able to do that realistically. It just seemed like [the project] was something I had to do, something I'd been waiting for," Watson declared enthusiastically.
