Matt Bomer Tapped For Gay Montgomery Clift As White Collar Season 5 Promo Previews October 17 Premiere

Matt Bomer may be busy with "White Collar" as it enters season 5, but the actor will also play legendary Hollywood actor Montgomery Clift, who reportedly had both gay and straight affairs.

"I would love to do a Montgomery Clift biopic. I would love to just keep working with really great directors who really inspire me," said Matt Bomer last year.

And now, it looks like he will have that chance in "Monty Clift," a film focusing on Montgomery Clift's affair with Elizabeth Taylor.

It is unknown if the film will go into Clift's gay relationships, although as a gay man himself, Matt Bomer can certainly relate.

"Monty carried on affairs with men and women. After his car accident his addiction included pain killers and became serious. His deepest commitments were emotional and reserved for old friends; he was unflinchingly loyal to women like Elizabeth Taylor, Libby Holman, Nancy Walker and Ann Lincoln," wrote biographer Patricia Bosworth.

To the disappointment of many female fans, Matt Bomer thanks his partner Simon Halls and his three children at last year's Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards.

Most recently, Matt Bomer praised actor Wentworth Miller for coming out as gay.

"I am really proud of him. It's very reflective of his amazing character," said Bomer.

And in addition to "Monty Clift," season 5 of "White Collar" will soon premiere on USA October 17.
