Final Fantasy 15 Updates: FF XV To Be First Action RPG Of The Franchise, Gameplay To Be Rendered Real Time, New Trailer Showcases New Footage

There hasn't been much news in terms of Final Fantasy 15, but thanks to a new trailer and some tidbits from director Tetsuya Nomura, we have a bit more information than before on FF XV.

According to Gamepur, Final Fantasy 15 will be the first action RPG within the numbered series. Prerendered cutscenes is slowly becoming obsolete thanks to next gen systems like PS4 and Xbox One.

While previous Final Fantasy 15 trailers (previously known as Final Fantasy Versus XIII) predominantly feature CGI cutscenes, Nomura promises that the battle gameplay will be fully rendered with players controlling everything in real time.

In this new trailer of Final Fantasy 15 (mostly old footage, with bits and pieces of new ones), you can see battle gameplay being rendered at a high level in real time.

According to Siliconera, FF XV will make sure of "strategic substitutions" in the battle system to add depth to the usual Final Fantasy combat.

Sadly, Final Fantasy 15 is sorely absent during this year's Tokyo Game Show.

"During E3 I was allowed to talk about Final Fantasy XV for the first time in a long time. I'm sorry but there is no update of information at TGS this time," says Nomura according to Crave Online.

"There are various reasons for this, but please look forward to more information."

Nomura also states that despite Final Fantasy 15 being an action RPG, certain traditional traits like the HP display, or damage number display will continue to exist in FF XV.
