‘Game Of Thrones’ Twitter Wishes George R.R. Martin A ‘Happy Name Day’ On His Birthday Today; Fans Join In

"Game of Thrones" author George R.R. Martin celebrates his birthday today, Friday, September 20, and the "Game of Thrones" official Twitter account wished the creator of the successful series a "Happy Name Day."

"Happy Name Day to George R. R. Martin," @GameOfThrones wrote on Twitter, followed by a link to a photo posted on Instagram of George R.R. Martin himself.

"Honor the father of the realm & tweet your favorite #GameofThrones moments," the "Game of Thrones" Twitter account continued, asking fans to join in on celebrating Martin's birthday.

Martin turned 65 years old today, and couldn't be more successful. According to Zap2it.com, Martin's best-selling book series has turned into an Emmy-winning, globally-recognized television show, and the demand for more "A Song of Ice and Fire" novels has never been higher.

Fans also took to Twitter to wish Martin a happy birthday, all in "Game of Thrones" fashion, of course.

"Happy Name Day, George RR Martin. You're the ice to my winter and the fire to dragons. @gameofthrones #GameOfThrones #GoT" @TheMissNguyen tweeted.

The "Game of Thrones" Twitter account later posted: "The Lannisters send their regards to George R.R. Martin on his name day," followed by a link to an Instagram photo of Martin's face pasted beside cartoon heads of the Lannisters. Cute!
