Nurse Jackie Season 6 Spoilers: New Female Character To Help Jackie Out Of Drug Habits? Merritt Wever Confirms Filming To Begin Right After Emmy Awards

"Nurse Jackie" season 6 is about to go into production, and a few spoilers regarding Jackie and co. have surfaced.

Firstly, Merritt Wever gave an interview with The Daily Beast where the actress talked about her character on "Nurse Jackie," as well as her Emmy nomination.

"It's nice to have people trust you so much on set. They just let me go," said Wever regarding the "Nurse Jackie" cast and crew.

"That's the kind of stuff that only happens when you know you won't be hated if you try something and it completely bombs. Which is really nice because the more I work away from 'Nurse Jackie,' the more I appreciate it. It is not like that everywhere, it really isn't. I really lucked out with this job."

Regarding her Emmy nomination, Wever is still quite uncomfortable with the public scrutiny.

"The whole problem is the dress and the hoopla," she said. "That was unpleasant for me. I don't tend to go to things where I have to wear something classified as a gown, you know?"

"I don't really know how to do that, and that was difficult. It's not as easy as walking into a store and walking out with something. It's just a different world. I don't really know how to function in it. I wish it was easy and I could say, 'Oh, it's all ridiculous!'"

Wever also confirms that "Nurse Jackie" season 6 will begin filming as soon as the Emmys is over September 22.

And in talking about Jackie and falling off the bandwagon, it seems a new character might be the one to help her during her drug struggles.

"Jackie is still going to support groups, but that's not what will help her. She'll meet someone just like her-you know, no-BS, tells it like it is, etc., and this woman might be just the person she needs to pull her out of her drug spiral. Here's hoping," writes E! Online.
