Nirvana’s Last Studio Album ‘In Utero’ Reissued After 20 Years; Dave Grohl Recalls Final Moments With Kurt Cobain

Celebrating 20 Years from its release,"In Utero" will be remastered and re-released. The remaining band members Dave Grohl and Krist Novoselic will also share some unreleased tracks as well as some fond memories of their last moments with their fallen singer.

Kurt Cobain, lead singer of Nirvana, shocked the world when he shot himself in 1994. He reluctantly became the spokesman of his generation after Nirvana's "Nevermind" album became a classic monster hit.

There are different packages available. The complete package consists of the remastered album and original B-sides to be reissued along with never-before-heard demos and the complete "Live And Loud" concert from December 13, 1993.

Novoselic, the band's bassist, recalls: "In Utero is a testament to the artistic vision of Kurt Cobain. It's kind of a weird record, and it's strangely beautiful at the same time."

Dave Grohl talks about working with Steve Albini:  "I gotta say, Steve Albini was really famous for his signature sound. The sound that he got on his albums, it was no accident. There's a science to what he does. It was usually mostly recognized in the drums. So if you listen to the Breeders' first album Pod or the Pixies' Surfer Rosa, or you listen to the Jesus Lizard album Liar, it sounds like a band in the room, but there's some sort of sonic element to it that nobody else could get. And Steve Albini was the only guy who could get that drum sound."

"When I listen back to this stuff, it's like it makes me sort of feel the way I felt then, because it's so real.
