Windows Phone 8 app MetroTalk is getting a makeover in its latest update. The Google Voice app that WinSource has labeled as “hands-down best Google Voice app” for Windows Phone 8, is now sporting a new look.

According to WinSource, the call/text page has been given a complete overhaul in the latest update of the popular Windows Phone 8 app. It now supports T9 dialing and it’s much easier to place a call.

Users of MetroTalk can also now use multiple accounts, which may be a first for Google Voice apps. Push notifications can also now be automatically configured through an easy setup process, noted WinSource. Non-Gmail users can manually configure push notifications. According to the Windows-focused blog, new users of the Google Voice app can breeze through the setup wizard., which works great.

There have also been some updates on the security of the app and there’s an added “international filtering” for calls. A bug that was fixed in this new release where UI issues, where before lists would occasionally fail to display all the items.

Skype no longer supporting Windows Phone 7

In another news, Skype, which is a company owned by Microsoft has officially announced that the instant messenger will no longer support Windows Phone 7 app with regular updates. GSM Arena reports that it is now focused on developing its app for the latest Windows Phone operating system.

The move came on the basis that most Skype users are on Windows Phone 8. According to GSM Arena, however, Skype for Windows Phone 7 will still be available in the WP Marketplace.
